Mik Scarlet visits The Shard
London is a major global tourist destination. The city is packed with countless modern and historic attractions, but what is on offer if you or one of your party is disabled? We sent broadcaster, journalist and wheelchair user Mik Scarlet to one London’s newest, and tallest, attractions The View From The Shard to experience the facilities for disabled visitors.
*I must admit I am rather afraid of heights, so I entered the foyer of the View From The Shard with trepidation. The helpful and friendly staff put my mind at rest, and as I was whisked up way above the city I found myself gripped with a growing excitement. However nothing could prepare me for the amazing view or how accessible the experience is for everybody. It really is breath taking up there and everyone can try it, no matter what their impairment.
